After graduating from WPHS I attended the University of Delaware and graduated
in 1967 with a degree in biology. I then attended the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in NYC where I
received my DDS degree in 1971. I entered the Navy and was stationed on the USS Holland AS32 and USS Simon Lake AS33 both
submarine tenders as an assistant dental officer in Rota, Spain. I then return back to the USA and was the Dental Office at the
Naval Surface Weapons Center located in Dahlgren, Va. I was then picked for specialty training in Periodontics and attended the
University of North Carolina, School of Dentistry where I received my certificate in Periodontics and a Masters Degree for my
research project in 1977. I was fortunate to be selected to present this paper at the British Society of Periodontics in London.
I then served as the regional periodontal consultant for Parris Island, The Marine Corps Air Station and Naval Hospital all located
in Beaufort, SC., till 1980. I then left the Navy and started my practice in Spartanburg, South Carolina where I am still
practicing today. My practice is limited to periodontal therapy, bone regeneration, and dental implants. I also treat patients
with sleep apnea by constructing oral orthotics. I lecture nationally and internationally on the use of mini-dental implants to
stabilize dentures, partials and replace missing teeth.
